Treasurer’s Report:
With one membership due still to come in, there is a balance of $326.23 in our account.
Winery:
Amy met with Cindy at the Winery, and Cindy liked the idea of our having a featured artist. We (BAG) then discussed a few ideas together…
- We could have a meet the artist/opening type of event.
- Can the exhibit be in the restaurant?
- We talked about maybe moving the date of the holiday show up a week to avoid scheduling conflicts with other events.
Jurying – We have two new members!
We juried the work of two artists. Amy Moran is a painter, painting original watercolors, giclees and cards. She has studied fine art at UMass and has participated in several juried and non-juried shows.
Natalie McKnight crafts handmade journals and collage landscapes from reclaimed materials. She has a BFA and 20 years experience as a graphic designer. Letters will be sent to both women inviting them to join our Guild.
Friends of Bolton
We discussed the possibility of the Guild doing an afternoon art project with the seniors, perhaps tying it into the timeframe when we have our exhibit there. Everyone was very much in favor of this lovely idea.
The Charter
Once again the Charter was up for discussion with more questions. Do we expand it beyond Bolton? There was quite a bit of talk about how the small size of the group keeps us close knit. However, Havard has a lot of artists, might we open it to them? What is our purpose? Amy read some objectives for us to think about:
- Two shows a year?
- What do we want out of the Guild?
- If we do a show, we have to plan for it early to ease things up on ourselves. Perhaps 8-9 months in advance to give us time to reach out to other artisans.
- Do we want to be show promoters or do we want to participate in other shows?
- Do we want to pair up with Hudson Alliance?
- We need to think about what we want.
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be on April 16, location to be determined. Brenda will be providing the snack.
